Picnic Baskets For Sale - Choosing The Right One For Your Needs

At the moment you probably aren't going to be thinking much about picnics in the park but sometimes, on those cold wintry days it can be nice to think of the warmer days to come. There is nothing quite like a family picnic in the park on a warm summers day and there are a whole host of different picnic baskets for sale from the more traditional wicker ones to the new age and modern ones, which are working their way into retail establishments.

What You Need

It is a good idea to figure out your picnic needs before you purchase a basket to best decide which would be more suited to you. Some have special compartments for holding all of your plates, cups and cutlery as well as a place for your blanket. You will also need to pay special attention to the size. Obviously, if you have a big family or if you are hosting a picnic party, you will need a larger basket. However, if your family or party is small, you won't want to be carrying around a massive basket all day.

Traditional Baskets

You will find traditional picnic baskets for sale at many different retailers. The classic style wooden weave baskets are probably some of the most popular. You can find these made of many different types of wood. However, bamboo or rattan are probably the most suitable as they are lightweight but can hold heavy loads. They are also very attractive due to the beautiful and delicate weaves used to make them.

Modernizing
If you are looking for something a little more modern, then polyester picnic baskets are great alternatives. They are just as convenient as wood as well as being light and durable. They can withstand lots of types of weather. Most polyester baskets are also made with small pockets on the inside which are insulated to help keep your food and drink cold. A lot of polyester baskets also come with adjustable shoulder straps and some larger designs include wheels to eliminate the need for carrying them around all day.

Tote Bags

If you still haven't found what you are looking for, then maybe a picnic tote bag is what you might be looking for. You can find them along with most other picnic baskets for sale. they are light, durable, easy to carry, and can be rolled up to be placed in small car compartments. Like the other 2 designs, they are also insulated to help keep the food cool. The only negative point with this kind of bags is that they are small and can only carry a limited number of items, so they are more suited for use during smaller, more intimate picnics.

Whichever design you decide to go with, you can be sure that your day out will be full of fun and laughter. Anything you decide to take for lunch can be neatly accommodated in your basket and before you go, you can have lots of fun browsing the different picnic baskets for sale in stores all over the internet, after all picnic baskets can be stylish too.

Give Your Kids Magical Memories With Picnic Hamper Baskets

Your family is one of the most important things in your life, and it's important that you take the time to enjoy one another's company while you can. Before long, they'll be adults and have families of their own. And while there are plenty of ways to enjoy time with each other, sometimes it's worth using some old-school options. Filling up a picnic hamper basket with some great food and heading out for a picnic may sound quaint, but it's really something that can create magical memories for your kids – not to mention for you!

 Picnic Hamper baskets
The beauty of a picnic is that you can plan one virtually anywhere, anytime. You don't need dinner reservations, and this county is filled with places that make a great picnic destination. Consider some of the following options:

  • The Park
  • The Beach
  • A Scenic Overlook
  • A Clearing on Your Favorite Hiking Trail
  • A Sporting Event
  • The Pool
  • Your Backyard

Those are just a few options. And yes, your backyard is a worthwhile destination. Even if you can't head out to a beach, just packing up a picnic lunch and grabbing a blanket, then heading to the backyard is enough to get your little ones excited.

The reason kids love a picnic is simple – it's something different, a special occasion. They're used to eating their lunch or dinner at the dinner table, in the school cafeteria, or somewhere else similar to those locations. But spreading out a blanket in the shade of a tree or in the summer sun lets them enjoy a quick meal in the wide open air.

It also eliminates distractions like TV from the equation and actually lets you bond with your family better. You can talk about your days, about the scenery, or about anything else you like while spending time together. Just be sure to use some sunscreen and to pack your family's favorite foods, and you'll be ready to go!

Wicker picnic baskets make it easy to pack a great picnic lunch and head out wherever you want to go. There's no question that a picnic can bring families together in amazing ways. With the right combination of food, outdoor ambiance, and family bonding, it's the perfect way to enjoy time with your kids. And of course, planning a picnic works great once your kids are grown and you are ready to give your grandchildren something to remember, too.

Considerations To Remember When Shopping For Discount Picnic Baskets

The internet has had a huge impact on many aspects of life, and shopping is one of the biggest. Thanks to the power of the net it's easier than ever to find great deals on virtually anything. And it's even forced brick and mortar stores to lower their own prices, creating a much more consumer-friendly world in general.

But when you're looking at discount picnic baskets, it's easy to get sidetracked by low prices and forget to think about other factors. However, in order to get the most from your picnic basket purchase you need to keep a few things in mind.

  • Price Shouldn't Be The Sole Factor – You should never make a purchase based on nothing more than price. It's great to get a low price on a basket, but if you go as cheap as possible you'll likely end up with a smaller one than you need, a poor-quality one that falls apart, or one that is so ugly you're ashamed to be seen with it. Instead, narrow down your choices based on other factors and then look at price.

  • Discount Picnic Baskets Aren't Low Quality – With that said, you shouldn't think that buying discount baskets means you're buying a lower quality product. You can find some really amazing baskets at low prices when you look for them. Don't immediately assume that a low price is a red flag. Just be sure to shop smart.

  • Look At Return Policies – Just to make sure that you get the right basket without worry, always shop for yours at a company that has a decent return policy. Even a simple 30 day return policy is more than enough to give you peace of mind. If something's wrong with your basket, you can get a refund with ease.

     http://www.picnicmoments.com/willow-picnic-baskets/willow-wood-4-orange.html
  • Shop Based On Your Needs – Take a look at the size, the style, and the extra features of each basket option. Once you have a clear idea of which one is right for you, consider cost. When you start shopping based on what you need, you'll get the right one for you.

  • Remember Shipping – If you're shopping online, always think about shipping and handling costs. These are usually very fair, but it's worth remembering that they exist when you place an order for yours.

Keep these five simple points in mind and you should be able to find the right discount picnic baskets with ease.

Choosing The Best Wooden Picnic Baskets

So you've decided that a great picnic basket is right for you and your family. Great! It's a decision that can help you spend more quality time with your family, turn a day out at the park into something truly memorable, and even inspire you to try out new experiences together. But the big question now is just which picnic basket to go with. Luckily, that's not that difficult of a decision.

Wooden Picnic Basket Spring ChestTo start with, you should understand that wooden picnic baskets are just a better call in most cases. There are wicker baskets and other options as well, but many people prefer the uniqueness and the durability of wood. In many instances you can find wooden picnic baskets that are covered in fabric, but solid wood ones look great as well.

Be sure you look into just what your wooden picnic basket can hold. This means not only looking at its size, but at any additional pockets and straps it may offer. The best baskets have pouches for a bottle of wine or soda – not to mention compartments for cutlery and dinnerware. Top mounted trays are a nice option as well, and help separate food or accessories when you're on the go.

Another thing to think about is just how well-made your picnic basket is. Nothing's worse than one that won't stay closed or that can't stand up to being taken out multiple times. Be sure that you purchase a quality basket. There's no easy way to determine this, but going for name-brand baskets or looking at online reviews of them can help you narrow down your selection somewhat.

Portability is important, too. It's surprising, but some picnic baskets don't really have decent handles, and carrying them becomes a challenge. Look at the handle design of your baskets to make sure yours can be carried with ease. And remember that larger baskets can hold more, which may lead to a heavier load.

Choosing a great picnic basket is something that you need to spend time doing. Finding the best one is important for getting the right results and enjoying your time with your family, so don't just purchase the first one you come to. Spend a little bit of time shopping and weight all of your options and you'll be able to find a picnic basket that fits your needs perfectly and creates an opportunity to enjoy hours of family fun.

Succeed a Picnic in Fall

The chilly winds are back, the trees are changing and the rain starts. As the days start getting colder and the sunlight is shorter, we turn on our hibernation mode. However we can still enjoy the outdoors, specially now before the cold weather arrives. This time of the year nature is colorful, with all those reddish, brownish and yellow colors around us. We can have a good time during this season despite the changing weather. We can enjoy all those beautiful color by simply having a picnic with friends or family. We don’t need to make a big preparation and this give us the opportunity to still enjoy the nice outdoors. Here are s
ome tips to help you get the most of the outdoors during this time of the year.

When you are going for a picnic in this season, try to wear on layers. Be prepare for even have good warm temperature. Keep your T-shirt underneath your sweater, you maybe surprised.

Picnic Moments in FallFood is the successful key in any picnic in fall. Bring a hot tea or a hot chocolate to keep you warm. An insulated picnic basket will help you out, it will keep your beverage cold for summertime and warm for wintertime, it works either ways. I do not recommend to have hot meals, even if you can keep it warm in your picnic basket, it will get cold very fast when you serve it. Bread, cheese and salami will be a good choice.

Plan your picnic for an early time, like brunch or early lunch. You need to start your outdoor activity early to get the best of the weather and more daylight.

Wherever location you are choosing, don’t forget to bring your waterproof picnic blanket. The ground is specially wet this time of the year and we don’t want to manage wet clothes during our fun times in the outdoors.

We can always have great opportunities to keep enjoying our beautiful nature. We just need to shake our tendency to hibernate and get ready to have fun with the falling leaves.

The Picnic Basket For Two Can Make Enduring Memories

Sometimes, one of the greatest joys in life is the beginning of a relationship, where time seems to stop and the two of you live in a world all of your own. During the courtship phase of a relationship, couples often find unique ways to spend time together and enjoy outings, but if you’re on a tight budget, you might just need to get creative. Instead of heading out to boring and expensive movies and dinner, try a delightful picnic instead!

Picnic baskets for two can create lasting memories to enjoy later in life. Once the heady days of courtship have gone by, you can remember your days sitting in the sun, sharing a basket of food and wine with your sweetheart. Whether you both love to try fondue or love to enjoy wine and cheese, you can easily find a picnic basket that will let you enjoy the foods you want and travel conveniently.

You can choose from a traditional picnic basket for two, or try something a bit more modern like a plastic tote or even a backpack. The traditional basket will last the longest of all of these options, and frequently offers more goodies and more room for goodies and extras like linens. However, they are also the heaviest and bulkiest option and may not be the best one for couples with limited space or time. Totes are a smaller and much lighter way to get a meal outdoors and although they certainly won’t last for generations, they are durable and may last for several years if taken care of properly.

 Picnic backpack basket for 2
The picnic backpack is a great combination of the two worlds. You get the convenience of travelling light, yet still have room to pack some food. The backpack offers a compact arrangement that lets you pack up your picnic in a tight space yet still have plenty of extras to make the meal really nice. In addition, you can simply sling the straps over your shoulders and it makes it much easier to hike out to a remote picnic area. The only downside to a picnic backpack is it can be awkward to tote liquids or ice.

Remember, your picnic can be a source of joy later in life, so do your best to ensure that all the right ingredients for happy memories are in place. Choose the right picnic basket for two – you may be able to enjoy the basket for many years to come.

Picnic Hamper Baskets

Most people tend to take the picnic hamper for granted as a modern day invention, but this could not be further from the truth. Picnic hamper baskets have been around for a very long time. Historians have calculated that picnic baskets really came into their own during the Renaissance period, when people gathered together for outdoor fairs and brought their own food and supplies for the day.

The hamper basket is the type probably most well-known for use as a food basket. These baskets feature a single or even dual wooden lid that closes over the top of the basket mouth. The main advantage of these styles of baskets is the instant and quick access to the items within. The lid acts as a table in some cases as well and can provide an eating surface while holding the food items within. Hampers are popular for laundry, kitchen and household use as well as for picnic baskets.
When looking for your new picnic hamper baskets, consider the little things. Look at the liner; most baskets will come with some type of liner to keep the dust and debris out of the basket. However, the liner also plays an important part in the insulation value of the basket. A good, thick liner will keep foods cold or hot as the case may be and can also absorb moisture from the outside of bottles or containers and thus, keep the containers far dryer.

Hamper lids can be divided into several partitions or can be a single lid attached with a hinge to the lip of the basket. You may even find divided partitions within the basket and so can keep your items organized and separated. The dual hamper lids can let you get right to the section you need rather than rummage around in the bottom of the basket.

Finally, the quality of the hinges and clasps needs to be carefully considered as issues with the lids or closures often spell the end of any picnic basket. The better the hinges, the longer the lid will last. Few people really want to spend their weekend mending their picnic basket lid, so the answer lies in choosing a good quality item that won’t require that extra maintenance.

Take your time and choose well; your picnic basket – if well chosen – can remain a happy and useful item for many years to come if you ensure the quality first.

Look For High Quality Discount Picnic Baskets

In today’s tough economy, it may be tempting to put aside every kind of extra expense and go without some of the little things that can bring so much pleasure. However, if you’re savvy enough to do some bargain shopping, you can still find ways to bring friends and family together and stay within a tight budget.

Picnics are a fantastic time for everyone and they often involve hanging around outside in the beautiful weather and enjoying friends and family. Another advantage to going on picnics is it is a way to bring your own food and affordably feed yourself and others and still enjoy a nice setting. Picnic baskets are the perfect happy medium between affordability and enjoyable experiences that you can splurge on, and you can find discount picnic baskets to help lower your expenses even more.

Now, there are discount picnic baskets that are nice and just lower in cost and there are discount picnic baskets that are made of poor quality materials and aren’t worth the effort. Your job is to figure out which is which so you can get a good deal instead of a shoddy basket. When looking for a discounted picnic basket, you need to first consider the quality of the material and then the quality of the craftsmanship on the basket. Ask yourself, are the materials durable? Is the basket well put together and made to last? This will help ensure you don’t settle for poor materials.

When choosing your basket, also try to get the largest size you can afford, as you can always have room to pack in more food or dishes should you have extra guests on your outing. Small baskets are nice for one or two people, and they are also less expensive, but a large basket can be enjoyed by not just one person but many.

Discounted picnic baskets may also offer you the chance to get a basket filled with goodies. Since the price of the basket is lower, you may be able to opt for a  better deal and get the included dishes and niceties that can make your picnic extra special. Do look for bargains, but don’t settle for less than good quality. Your picnic basket should be able to last you for many years and so you still need to make sure it’s a worthy investment. Make the most of your outdoor days with quality picnic baskets.

Picnic Basket Basic

There's no doubt that spending time with your family or with a friend is important, and a well-planned picnic makes it easy to do so in a way that won't be forgotten easily. There are plenty of different ways to plan out a picnic, but it all begins with the picnic basket.

There are a few things that you need to keep in mind about picnic baskets. First, you should understand that today's baskets aren't just small little things that barely hold any food and look ugly or tacky. Today there are picnic baskets of all shapes and sizes, and plenty of them that match up with your sense of style as well. For instance, you can find things like:
  • Backpack Picnic Baskets
  • Wooden Picnic Baskets
  • Hamper Picnic Baskets
  • Picnic Cooler Baskets
  • Picnic Tote Baskets
  • And More

Whether you want a small, easy to carry basket or a larger one, there's something for everyone.

Size isn't the only consideration, and today's picnic baskets are actually designed to make it easier to pack for a picnic and enjoy yourself when you get there. Features like cooler lining to keep your food cool are handy, as are individual compartments for cutlery, plates, and even a bottle of wine and some glasses. In other words, your picnic basket can make it easy to carry everything you need in style.

Choosing a picnic basket that works for you is important. Start off by looking at the size and the extra features and narrow down your options to a few that stand out in your mind as the best for you. Then, compare prices. Look at what you get for your money to ensure you get the best value – something that's a bit different than just the lowest price.

Once you have the right basket, all that's left to do is pack it and head out. When you decide on the food you're going to bring, be sure that you think about going beyond simple sandwiches. There are lots of great meals that translate perfectly to a picnic, and packing something special can create an even more magical experience.

If you're looking for a way to set up a great day with your family, need a romantic date idea that will really impress, or just want to head to the park or beach fully prepared for an all-day visit, a picnic basket can be the first step towards success.

Picnicking With Style

Having a picnic is always fun. This is also a nice activity to share with our loved ones. What a great idea to have a picnic with family and friends! A picnic can be an informal gathering where all the invitees share a dish and a moment together. These relaxing times can help to build the bonds within family or friends.

A picnic can be very simply organized. You can pack a package of ham, cheese and bread and you are ready to go. But, if you want to be more sophisticated, you can try one of these ideas.

The first step for picnic with style is having the right gear. You can’t go wrong with a willow picnic basket. You can find in the market full-equipped baskets with an insulated food compartment included. This classic basket will help you organize your picnic in an easy way. You can find very good quality picnic baskets for sale over the Internet or in a department store.

The meal is a very important part. If you want to change the classic idea of sandwich and salad, try a hot dish instead. With the right gear it won’t be difficult to keep it warm. My suggestion is to choose a plate that you finish when you are installed in your picnic destination. It could be a pasta dish. You can bring the boiled pasta and the sauce in your picnic basket and mix them up when you are ready to eat.

Picnic With Toddlers: Encourage Their Creativity

Toddlers are so beautiful, funny, fresh and full of life… but also hard to manage and control! They are at that age where they want to try everything and do everything on their own, but they are still very little to let them go.

Toddlers are movement. They have a great passion for discovering and trying new things. They learn by touching, smelling and feeling. Some experts affirm that a kid’s intelligence will increase if the kid is well stimulated, not only visually, but also by using touching and smelling as opportunities to acquire more experiences. The contact with nature can be a great learning experience and also an opportunity to increase their curiosity and creativity. A picnic moment can offer to your toddler many occasions to learn, discover and create. Below are some ideas that you can try in your next picnic.

Play pretend with your little one. This simple game will help him/her develop his/her imagination and creativity. You can use what you have around you. If you are picnicking in a city park, you can pretend to be squirrels. Play sneaking at the food, or jumping from tree to tree or hiding nuts in the ground. If you are in a wooden area, you got more choices. Just look around you and use your imagination. You can even pretend to be a tree, which stands tall and moves with the wind. If you are picnicking in a beach, you can be a fish, a seagull or even a wave. This simple game will help your toddler be aware of his/her surroundings and learn about animal habits.

Let him or her help you. Toddlers learn by imitating you, give him/her the opportunity to participate in the activity. Your little one can help you set up the picnic or to serve part of the meal. Be very patient, as they need extra time and often can be very messy. With your help and love, your beautiful kid will soon understand the organization and you could be very surprised to see how well he/she can handle a picnic.

Be spontaneous. If you want to encourage your child creativity, give him/her space and don’t be rigid. Some games work better than others, so be ready to adapt. Listen to your child and follow his/her lead. You will be surprise by his/her imagination. A rock, a leaf or an insect can become a game, a new occasion to explore and learn.

Every moment that you spend with your little one can be a source of learning and discovering. A picnic helps you interact with nature, family members, friends and new things. You can make a simple activity, like picnicking, a great learning and imagination event!

Large Picnic Events

The beautiful weather offers the opportunity to spend time outdoors with friends and family. I recently participated in a picnic event. I brought with me my picnic basket for four, but I soon realized that an extra plate, fork or cup is always needed. I always taught that a large picnic basket is only for big families, but when you like to share a picnic moment with friends, it is good to be ready to offer some “picnic equipment”.

I found this nice picnic basket for six very useful. It comes with a full set of cutlery and plates. I am planning to keep enjoying the warm season with family and friends, I hope that you can enjoy it too.

Sun Protection Tips For Picnic

Picnicking is always fun. Now that the warm seasons are back, we all want to enjoy the nice weather and get our shorts out of the closet. Before preparing our cheap picnic baskets, let’s take a moment to think about protecting our skin while we enjoy the bright sun.

We are all aware that skin protection is essential when we are exposed to the sun in a picnic day. Everybody should get protected even if you plan to stay in the shade. Doctors recommend the use of sunscreen, a sun protection hat (not a regular hat) and sun protection clothes. They recommend to combine them all if the UV factor is high and the exposure time is long. Here you will find some tips that can help you better protect your skin in your next outdoor activity.

The sunscreen is the most known form of sun protection. The main problem with the sunscreen is that most people do not apply it correctly. You should apply a thick layer 30 minutes before sun exposure and then reapply every 90 minutes if the exposure continues. The experts recommend the use of a sunscreen with a SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or 40. A sunscreen with a higher SPF is not needed because the UV protection will increase only by 3% or 4% while the risk of allergies increases because of the extra chemicals. When buying your sunscreen, also look for a sunscreen with “broad spectrum”. The SPF only refers to protection against UVB. A sunscreen labeled “broad spectrum” also includes protection against UVA.

Another option to protect your skin against ultraviolet rays is the use of sun-protected clothes. These are not the regular summer clothes that we usually wear. The materials in these clothes are chemically treated to guarantee an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) that can go from 15 (good) to 50+ (excellent). The UPF is used in clothing to measure the effectiveness against both the UVA and UVB. This is an important different between sun protection clothes and sunscreen. When you wear sun-protected clothes, you are being protected against both types of rays. The clothe guarantees that you get the protection indicated in the label. If you use sunscreen and this is not applied correctly, you end up less protected, regardless of the SPF of the sunscreen.

A sun protection hat is also made with treated materials to guarantee a UPF. In order to have total protection, you should look for a hat with a brim of 3 ½ inches or more. Depending on the activity, you may want to consider a hat with a chinstrap.

A picnic day is an activity in which we typically expose our skin to the sun. It is therefore important to also include in our wicker picnic baskets some form of skin protection that allows us to protect our skin while we enjoy our picnic experience.

Protect Your Skin From UV In Your Next Picnic

Picnicking is always fun. Now that the warm seasons are back, we all want to enjoy the nice weather and get our shorts out of the closet. Before preparing our picnic baskets, let’s take a moment to think about protecting our skin while we enjoy the bright sun.

We are all aware that sun protection is essential when we are exposed to the sun, like in a picnic day. Everybody should get protected even if we plan to stay in the shade. When we talk about sun protection, we usually think on sunscreen, but there are other ways to protect ourselves from UV exposure. I really like the idea of  sun protection clothes. These outfits are designed to protect your skin from the UVA and UVB. Even if they cover a maximum amount of skin, they are cool and comfortable to wear. Sun protection clothing is less expensive that sunscreen, as you can wear them many times, and it is less messy.

No matter what kind of sun protection you prefer, don’t forget to protect your skin while enjoying the outdoors.

French Fondue Recipe

This is a very easy and stylish recipe to take in a picnic, the harder part is to find the ingredients, but these tips can help you to make a great dinner for a special picnic.

A French Fondue is made by the combination of 3 or 4 cheeses very easy to find in France, not that easy to find in the States. The cheeses are Compté, Gruyère, Tomme de Savoie and French Emmental. But you can prepare a French Fondue with common cheeses in America.

You can use an Emmental cheese (Swiss Emmental or Emmentaler) as your main cheese and then a combination of Aged Manchego, Aged Cheddar and Gouda. To prepare a French Fondue for 2 persons you will need 1lb of cheese. The quantity needed of each of these cheeses will depend on the strong flavor that you want to give to your Fondue.

For a strong flavor French Fondue you need:
1/3 lb of  Emmental Cheese
1/3 lb of  Aged Cheddar Cheese
1/6 lb of  Aged Manchego Cheese
1/6 lb of Gouda Cheese
1/3 of a white wine bottle
1 baguette

For a light flavor French Fondue you need:
½ lb of Emmental Cheese
¼ lb of Aged Cheddar Cheese
¼ lb of Aged Manchego Cheese
1/3 of a white wine bottle
1 baguette

Preparation
Cut all the cheeses in small pieces. Cut the bread in medium size pieces (about 1in. tick). Place only half of the cheeses and add the white wine. Wait until the cheeses are melted and then add the rest.
You will also need one can of jelled chafing fuel.

The Spring Break is Here

For those who are lucky to live close to a beach, or those who are traveling to enjoy their spring break in a sandy beach, here are some tips to make a successful beach picnic.

The first thing that you must have is a cooler, or even better a picnic cooler. Picnic coolers are very light and some of them are equipped with a set for two or four persons, others also come with wheels.

If you only want to have a relaxing time, you can plan your picnic very easily. Bring food that doesn’t need to much preparation. Remember that serving a meal in the beach can be tricky. If it’s windy, you will have sand all over your plate. If you only want to lay down and enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves, sandwiches or panini are good ideas.

If you picnic is part of a big day full of activities at the beach, I recommend that you bring a full meal with appetizer, entrée and dessert. Having fun at the beach can be very tiring and you and your companions will get very hungry. Plan to bring snacks to keep up with the activities.

Have a Happy Picnic!

Easter Picnic Egg Hunting

Easter is the most important feast for all Christians around the world. During Easter they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Many Christians celebrate Easter with their family members. This is an important occasion to share, celebrate and rejoice. Kids specially enjoy this celebration. They are treated with candies, chocolates and the traditional Egg Hunting.

Easter also announces the beginning of the Spring season when weather is warmer and colors are brighter. Easter is a good opportunity to star enjoying the outdoors. A picnic for lunch on Easter Sunday fits very well with the traditional egg hunting. Kids and also adults can have so much fun.

Here are some tips that can help you prepare an egg hunting lunch picnic this coming Easter.

Choosing the right place. If you are planning an egg hunting, I suggest choosing a big park where you can have a lot of space to make the activity more fun. Think also about your companions. If you are planning to celebrate Easter with little children, a small park where you can keep the kids close may be a better idea.

Decorations. Get into Spring mood!, bring a decoration with soft colors, like light blue and green. If you have time, you can make your own decorations. You can use your decorated eggs placed in an Easter basket like a table center.  A chocolate bunny will be a perfect decoration item and also a delicious one! For your egg hunting, instead of using hard-boiled eggs, try to use empty-shell eggs and fill them with small treats. If you haven’t done this before here are some tips:
  • Make a hole in the fat end of the egg using a pin or a sharp knife. Make the hole bigger, about the size of a pencil eraser.
  • Make a small hole using a needle or a pin in the opposite side. Then blow air into the egg to remove the egg yolk and the white into a bowl.
  • Deep the eggshell into soap water, shake it to rinse the insides well and pour it out.
  • Decorate the eggshell using your favorite designs. Use a long nail tool to allow them dry.
  • If you want to put small treats inside, the button-shaped candies fit very well.
  • Cover the big hole with a paper. You can also cover the whole eggshell with a mix of glue and water (50% water, 50% glue) to increase the eggshell resistance.

Getting the food ready. The hard-boiled eggs are a big tradition, they are very easy to take in a picnic and you can use them in a variety of dishes. Don’t forget your insulated picnic basket that will help you carry all your food in a easy and proper way.

Having a picnic is always fun. Let’s celebrate Easter and the beginning of Spring by enjoying the outdoors and get the most of the Easter bunny. Happy Easter!

Picnic With A Disable Companion

Having a disable friend or a family member, or be ourselves a person with disabilities can be a daily challenge. A person with any kind of disability has to adapt to the world and put an extra effort in her everyday activities. Sometimes going outside takes so much energy that we just give up and decide to stay home. But even if it can be challenging, not matter what our condition is, we always enjoy a change in the routine.

Going in a picnic can be a very exiting activity for a person with a physical impairment. You don’t need to plan too much, it can be very simple, and you can do it in your own peace. Here are some ideas that can help you to get the most of your next picnic with that very special person.

Choosing the place. This is the most challenging part. Living with a person with disabilities makes us think of many details that we would not consider otherwise. The good news is that we can have a great picnic almost anywhere. You don’t need to climb a mountain or hike into a forest to find a nice spot. Urban parks and National Parks are great options. They offer the contact with nature, and they are usually well adapted for our special companion. I try to avoid beaches, they can be a lot of fun, but you have to take more things in consideration. Wheelchairs do not drive well in sand and getting to the bathroom can be a challenge since they are usually crowded and far away. Also, it is harder to walk on sand. Your companion may get tired before reaching your picnic spot. If your companion does not have any trouble walking on sand, I will include beaches on my list.

Having the right gear. Don’t forget your picnic basket and your picnic blanket; they are essentials to give to your picnic the perfect touch and will make your preparation much easier. You can find in the market insulated picnic baskets or picnic coolers that will help you to carry your food in the best possible conditions.

Sharing the moment. The most important thing on a picnic is to have fun and create a moment. For a person with physical impairments life is a challenge, this can be a moment to connect with nature, friends, family and life. You can play tables games, read books, make puzzles or simply lie down and search for shapes in the clouds.

Sometimes it is hard to do activities when we encounter some physical limitations. A picnic can be very simple and adaptable; you just relax and enjoy the moment. Have fun and create great picnic moments!
