Picnicking at Lake Tahoe

Situated in the limits of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is a top vacation destination all year round. At Lake Tahoe you can enjoy outside activities like hiking, biking, camping, boating, snowboarding, skiing and much more. In this article we will describe some places where you can have a nice picnic while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Picnicking at Lake Tahoe submerges you in the scene. The beautiful scenery invites you to relax and taste nature. There are many places at Tahoe where you can experience the deep contact with nature in a peaceful way. What a great way to give to yourself a break that it is cheap and at your own peace.
Lake Tahoe is situated at a surface elevation of 6,225 ft. In Summer the average temperature is 78.7 °F and in Winter the average temperature is 41.0 °F.  This is a beautiful place where the surroundings change as the seasons do. During Summer time, the temperature is warm enough to enjoy a picnic in the multiples sandy beaches of the lake. Some of the most popular are:
·         El Dorado Beach, in South Lake Tahoe. This is a very convenient place inside the city where all amenities are close. This beach is at walking distance from the Timber Cove Marina, the longest pier in Lake Tahoe.
·         Pope Beach, in South Lake Tahoe. This beach is very close to the city and surrounded by trees.
·         Baldwin Beach, in South Lake Tahoe. This beach is outside the city, with convenient access to Hwy 89. This beautiful beach offers you a great combination of a sandy beach and a wood’s scenery.
·         Commons Beach, in Tahoe City. This is a convenient place inside the city where all amenities are close. This beach is at walking distance from the Heritage Plaza Watson Cabin and the Tahoe City Marina.
·         Kings Beach, in North Lake Tahoe. This is a beautiful beach inside a State Recreation Area, very close to the city, and with access to all amenities.
But beaches aren´t the only thing that you can enjoy picnicking at Lake Tahoe, there are also historic sites as the Tallac Historic Site situated at South Lake Tahoe (see picture).
If you want to combine your picnic with another outdoor activity as biking or hiking, you can enjoy a great picnic in the wood in one of the beautiful biking and hiking trails. Some of the most popular are:
·         U.S.F.S. bike trail in South Lake Tahoe.
·         West Shore bike trail in Tahoe City.
·         Tahoe City to Dollar Point.
·         North Tahoe Regional Park in North Lake Tahoe.
As I described above, Lake Tahoe is a place that changes with the seasons, enjoy picnicking in all of them, even in winter with your snow gear, just grab on your picnic basket, you are going to love it!
